Omar Aswad is the Founder, President, and CEO of Nexus Consilium LLC, a consultancy specializing in strategic advisory, government contracting, ESG solutions, and operations in complex environments. With over 12 years of experience and $300M+ in managed portfolios, he has delivered measurable results for organizations including USAID, the United Nations, UKAID, GIZ, and ECO.
His career highlights include leading multimillion-dollar projects in Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Ukraine, and Africa, where he streamlined procurement processes, reduced delivery delays, and built resilient operational systems. With deep expertise in compliance, contracting, and supply chain transformation, Omar is dedicated to bridging international best practices with U.S. market opportunities.
Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Global Leadership & Management at Arizona State University, Omar brings academic insight together with field-tested experience to guide Nexus Consilium’s mission of driving innovation, resilience, and sustainable impact worldwide.
Ahmed Mohammed Ameen - MEL and Academic Solution Director
Ahmed is a humanitarian program and project manager with over nine years of experience leading crisis response, gender equality, and nonprofit development initiatives across Iraq and Syria. A SHARE Fellow at Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management, he is pursuing a Master’s in Global Management with a focus on Global Affairs. Ahmed has managed 25+ humanitarian projects in education, child protection, GBV prevention, WASH, and institutional capacity building, partnering with donors such as USAID, UNHCR, UNDP, and the EU. He is also the Academic Solutions Director of Nexus Consilium LLC (Nixsos), where he supports nonprofits and international students through strategic advisory, program design, and capacity development.
Harriwan Mahdi - Regional Director MENA
Harry with more than a decade of experience advancing governance, democracy, and economic growth initiatives across Iraq and the wider region. He has led and managed multimillion-dollar USAID programs in civil society strengthening, election support, business incubation, agribusiness acceleration, SME financing, reforms, and youth engagement.
Harry holds an MPA in International Development from the University of York (UK) and completed executive education at Harvard Kennedy School in Implementing Public Policy. He is also pursuing advanced certifications in PPP, finance, and ESG to deepen his expertise at the nexus of policy, investment, and sustainable development.
Yousif Ahmed - Finance Director
Yousif Ahmed is the Finance Director at Nexus Consilium LLC, with over 14 years of progressive experience in international finance, accounting, and auditing. His expertise spans financial strategy, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, and the design of robust financial systems that meet the highest international standards.
With advanced academic training—holding a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field—Yousif brings both technical depth and strategic insight to his role. He has overseen financial operations for global organizations operating across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with U.S. government regulations, donor compliance frameworks, and international financial reporting standards.
As Finance Director, Yousif leads Nexus Consilium’s global financial strategy, providing oversight on auditing, reporting, and risk management to support complex operations worldwide. He is recognized for strengthening transparency, enhancing decision-making, and building resilient financial systems that enable sustainable growth across diverse international markets.
